Tiny Pantry Program
What is a Tiny Pantry?
A Tiny Pantry is a small, community-supported shelf or cabinet filled with free non-perishable, sealed food and basic essentials, available to anyone -- no questions asked. Everything operates on trust, respect, and community kindness.
Tiny Pantries are located around San Pedro in front of homes, businesses, and community spaces - helping neighbors access with dignity and care.
Each Tiny Pantry operates on a simple idea:
When you have a little extra, give.
When you need a little help, take.

Pantry Hosting FAQ
-
Maybe! While we are giving priority to those who help build them, we're also balancing that with trying to make sure we have good coverage throughout San Pedro. These pantries aren't cheap, so we're constrained by how many donations we get and how many people show up for the event
-
YES! We LOVE the idea of decorating it to reflect you! We will be building them all the same for efficiency, but then you can take it home put some dazzle on it if you want. Maybe you want it to match your house, so you paint it the same colors and add similar roofing materials. Maybe you love a sports team and you want to show off your team pride. Or maybe you want to let the neighborhood kids help you decorate it!
-
The primary purpose of these pantries is to create a community space to share food and personal care items. If your kid wants to share a special toy or a favorite book, that's totally ok if there's room. But until food security is no more or a greater need arises, the pantries built by SPCC will be focused on food
-
Not necessarily, but priority for tiny pantries built by SPCC will go to spaces that have broad accessibility
-
Absolutely! Some of our pantries use shelves. Or you might want to build a tiny pantry that's a mini replica of your dog's house (come on you know whose house it really is woof). You can still be included in the list of pantries and get help with refills as we get food donations to share
